If you run a Domino's store you know about the periodic franchise inspections. One employee safety item on the inspection is a time delay safe for your deposits. The mechanical time lock that was controlled by the combination lock dial on many of the McGunn top doors has a list price of $1,163.91*. That price is the lock ONLY, No labor, and no opening charges IF it locks you out. The cost of drilling open this safe can almost pay for the update!

Over the years even the best sealed and serviced of these mechanical time locks has become unreliable due to flour, dust, cornmeal, or physical abuse. The modern replacment for these locks is an electronic combination lock that can be dialed in seconds** and in most cases can be fitted to your safe for well under $500. A like new door for that price can save you from buying a new safe. That is money in pocket. Also don't forget this will probably be treated as repair and maintanence on your taxes and not as a capitol investment so you can deduct it all this year!***
